OLAT (Online Learning and Training) is the central Learning Management System of Goethe University. As a teacher, you can use OLAT to offer digitally supported teaching (as enrichment or blended learning). You can use various functionalities: folders, forums, link lists, topic assignment, tasks with and without peer review, tests and questionnaires or (via the video management portal Mediasite) integrated video streams are just a small selection of your options.
Please note: Tuesdays between 8:30 am and 10:30 am is Update time in OLAT. During this maintenance period the learning management system may not be available. Should OLAT not be available outside this period, please write an email to: lernsysteme@rz.uni-frankfurt.de
Sign in to OLAT: https://olat-ce.server.uni-frankfurt.de
OLAT Login
You need a HRZ-Account (Login and Password) in order to sign on. You should have received this by mail along with your Goethe-Card.
Did you forget your password?
Please contact the Goethe-Card Service: goethecard@rz.uni-frankfurt.de
After your first log in you can access “Einstellungen" (settings) in the menu on your homepage. Select “System" (system) and you will find the language selection dropdown menu next to "Sprache" (language). Then click on the Button “Speichern" (save) and the interface will be in English immediately.
At your next login, OLAT will then continue to use the English interface for your courses.
If you want to create a course on the central learning management platform OLAT, you first need author rights/author privileges. In order to get these rights activated on your account, please send us an email: lernsysteme@rz.uni-frankfurt.de
If your account has author rights, you can click on the tab "Learning Resources" and create your course with the button "Create course". Please refer to the Quick Start Guide (linked below).
Additionally, courses should be linked within the catalogue to facilitate students' access. This is not an automatic process. Please send us (Team Lernsysteme) the following links via email:
1. The link to the OLAT course.
2. The link to the course in QIS/LSF to which the OLAT course belongs.
When integrating a course, we also check whether the course is technically accessible.

You can find out what
OLAT and the OLAT elements have to offer, as well as further information about

Should you have questions concerning how to design an OLAT course, please have a look at our OLAT FAQ first. If you do not find an answer there, please write an email to: lernsysteme@rz.uni-frankfurt.de.
