OLAT Manuals

How to start as a teacher in OLAT?

What do you need to create courses in OLAT?

You will need a HRZ account (login and password) and the role of author to create courses in OLAT.

How do you receive author privileges in OLAT?

Please contact olat@rz.uni-frankfurt.de and state your HRZ login (not your password!). Your author privileges will be valid as long as your HRZ account is valid.

If you work as a student assistant (“studentische Hilfskraft") at Goethe University, you need an extra HRZ account that author privileges will be bound to. You can get a new account at the Goethe-Card Service. Please have your identity documents ready. After the account has been created, it may take up to several hours for the account to become active on the OLAT platform. Please contact us after your new, separate HRZ Account has been created, so we can assign author privileges.

Integrating your course into the OLAT catalogue

Please send us the following links via email after having created your course:

  1. The link to the OLAT course.
  2. The link to the course in QIS/LSF to which the OLAT course belongs.

We will then integrate your course in the OLAT catalogue according to the paths in QIS/LSF. This makes it easy for students to find the course. The OLAT catalogue (course offerings) always displays the courses from the current semester.

When integrating a course, we also check whether the course is technically accessible.

Instructions for OLAT authors
